  1. Ribbon representation of the Pseudomonas cepacia 2,3­dihydroxybiphenyl 1,2­dioxygenase (PDB code 1HAN) complex with t­butanol. Domain A (2-118) = blue; domain B (146-289) = green. Note that the protein binds two iron atoms: an active site iron buried in the domain B and an adventitious iron present with partial occupancy and is derived from the crystal stabilising solution.
  2. Mononuclear iron centre and its ligands.
